Privacy policy for healthcare messaging.
This policy describes the current Proto Health staging workflow used to send appointment-related and care-related text messages on behalf of participating healthcare providers.
These pages describe the current staging prototype used for appointment and care-related SMS messaging on behalf of participating healthcare providers.
Messages are limited to operational healthcare communication such as reminders, care instructions, scheduling follow-up, and escalation back to provider staff.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. End users can reply STOP to opt out and HELP for support.
For this prototype messaging program, Proto Health may process a patient or customer's name, mobile phone number, appointment or care details, provider name, scheduling or service context, message history, and basic delivery or support logs.
The healthcare providers using Proto Health determine which patients should receive appointment-related or care-related communications. Proto Health processes this information only to deliver those operational messages and to support the provider's existing patient communication workflow.
We use messaging data to:
- Send reminders and instructions for upcoming appointments, visits, or procedures.
- Confirm logistics such as service dates, arrival times, and provider callback numbers.
- Handle routine scheduling or care-related questions within the approved workflow.
- Escalate complex questions or callback requests back to provider staff.
- Monitor delivery status, troubleshoot issues, and improve message quality and safety.
Proto Health does not sell personal information, and mobile numbers collected for this messaging workflow are not shared with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
SMS consent is not transferred, sold, or shared for unrelated campaigns. Message data is used only to operate the clinic communication workflow described on this site.
Proto Health may use infrastructure and communications vendors strictly to host the application, route messages, and support the messaging workflow on behalf of participating healthcare providers.
Those providers act only as service providers supporting delivery and operations. They are not authorized to use patient mobile information for independent marketing purposes.
End users can opt out of future text messages at any time by replying STOP. End users can request support by replying HELP.
For questions about a specific appointment, service, procedure, or medical instruction, patients should contact the healthcare provider coordinating their care using the number provided during scheduling, registration, or in the message conversation.
